The major focus of this website will deal with the branch that inhabited the villages surrounding the Adonis River (Keserwan and Jbeil), and expanded to towns and villages such as Mazraet-Yachouh and Deir-El-Ahmar and Leilaki.

Other areas of interests for Atallah.org will be every Lebanese village that the Atallahs or a related family inhabited and migrated to. Atallahs from Syria and the Holy Land will also be covered as we receive relevant information on them.

Atallahs around the world is another section that will be covered, as we try to trace the migration of our ancestors to the new world.

Shaheen George Bischalaney was born in 1871, in Mt. Liban, Syria and died in 1940, in Olean, NY. He had a sister, Mahaba, who married Daoud Heriz (Harris) and who also lived in Olean and a sister Satout, the wife of Youssef Abdou Al Erian who probably remained in Lebanon and did not outlive her brother and sister since only Mahaba Harris who died in 1944 is mentioned in Shaheen’s 1940 obituary notice. Satout’s existence is ascertained by her name, Satout George Beshalany of Salima which appears on her son Khalil’s marriage certificate from St Joseph Maronite Church in Olean.. Both the Abou Heriz and the Al ‘Erian families belonged to the Houses of the Beshalani.

Bishop Semaan Tanios Atallah was born in Adonis - Jbeil on the 10th of January 1937, he entered the Antonin order of Monks on the 31st of October 1951; he was consecrated as a priest on the 7th of December 1963.

After attending the Antonin College , Baabda for his high school studies, Bishop Atallah studied at St. Anselm,s University, Rome, where he obtained a degree in theology. To further his spiritual knowledge, Bishop Atallah earned a degree in the science of the Easter Churches at the Gregorian University, Rome.
